What Is “Spirituality” Actually?

I’m always a bit cautious to use the word spirituality, since it’s so poorly defined: Some people use the word to refer to their spirit, or soul.

Whatever it may be, it’s easy to negate the word with religion, dogma and weird stuff; unscientific stuff. This we can’t have here at the Scientific Meditator network, y’all!

So what is spirituality?

Everything can be spiritual. But it depends on how you look at it. Or more exactly: How you experience it.

Spirituality comes to life when we are aware that what we are experiencing as reality, is actually our mind; not the physical.

This is true for everything and everyone, but we are not all always aware of it. One may look out the window and think they’re looking at some part of the world. In a way that’s true. But actually, all one really sees is a reflection of that part of the world in ones mind.

This is always the case. We only do see any part of reality through the lens of our mind.

Whether we are in touch with this truth or not, makes us more or less spiritual: If we are oblivious to it, then we are not spiritual at all; if we can sense it in every situation throughout the day, then we are highly spiritual.

Who said spirituality had to be complicated? It’s simple, right? 😁

That’s just my two cents on the issue. Let me know what your thoughts are down below!
